International Year of Chemistry 2011

About Us

The UNESCO declared 2011 the International Year of Chemistry. This is how the world would like to pay tribute to the breakthroughs of chemistry and the great chemists', for example Marie Curie's life and work, who was awarded a Nobel Prize one hundred years ago.

The main aim of CHEMGENERATION.COM is to promote chemistry through a wide variety of rich multimedia contents, interactive illustrations, small games and state-of-the-art web applications, and make it generally understandable, especially to the younger generations.

The individual chapters of the webpage provide a detailed account on the history of chemistry, its major areas of application, and those promising developments that are expected to be introduced in the near future.
